1919 Coffee was born out of a desire to contribute something of value to the society. The name 1919 refers to the year our Bristot Italian coffee beans was established. In its Mandarin pronunciation, "9" also has the added meaning of sustainability. We import, roast, and distribute green coffee beans that are either certified organic, fair trade, shade-grown, bird-friendly, or rainforest alliance. We only use fresh roast coffee beans that are environmentally, socially and economically responsible.
Our teas are equally as impressive. Not only is Taylors of Harrogate teas the choice of the British Royal Family, it also established the "Trees for Life"campaign in 1990. Taylors of Harrogate recognized that with the reality of global warming, trees have become earth's most valuable resource and vital to our existence. Eighteen years on, proceeds from this family owned tea business have funded the planting of nearly three million trees.
Our commitment to social and environmental sustainability extends to educating the public about their individual impact on the wider world. When you drink a cup of 1919 coffee or tea, you are actively bettering the living conditions of coffee farmers in third world countries as well as preserving the habitat of endangered wildlife and the environment as a whole. Through international media coverage as well as our local Taiwanese public awareness campaigns, we have and will continue to provide coffee and tea lovers with the tools to choose responsibly when indulging in their favorite beverages.
